What is this platform about?[edit | edit source]

The SE4CEs Wiki Platform is a digital platform for sharing educational materials regarding Social Economy (SE) and its sister movements and research areas such as Community Development, Solidarity Economics, The Commons, and Degrowth. It aims to become a core point of reference for the study of these fields in Europe and beyond. Since its architecture is based on MediaWiki, the same engine that powers Wikipedia, it becomes evident that SE4CEs Wiki Platform is something more than an online repository for SE-related educational sources. This is not a top-down static collection of essays and videos; it is a community development tool that aspires to function as a living organism that evolves vis-à-vis the development of the community of its users.

Who is this platform for?[edit | edit source]

The SE4CEs Wiki has been created for everyone involved in the field of Social Economy education in its broader sense as a tutor, student, practitioner, or policy maker.  Here, one can find inputs in various formats that can facilitate improving and updating educational material and syllabuses in SE-related programs; offer additional inspiration and information to the students in the field of SE; find professional courses as well as practical guidance on legislative and other issues that are relevant for practitioners; explore the state of the art in the field of SE through a rich and dynamic selection of cases studies, mapping tools, and local social innovations that is relevant for policymakers.

What can you do on this platform?[edit | edit source]

The SE4CEs Wiki allows you to guide through a multiplicity of inputs on Social Economy and other relevant movements and research areas that serve as educational materials in the four countries of the project: Spain, Italy, Greece, and the UK. Besides having free access you can also update or edit these materials as well as suggest new entries that you think are relevant in the respective categories. SE4CEs Wiki promotes a community alternative to conventional libraries and repositories as well as an alternative to conventional ways for the development of educational curriculums.

How does the SE4CEs Project relate to this platform?[edit | edit source]

SE4Ces is a Knowledge Alliance co-financed under Erasmus+ seeking to create an enabling environment for the Social Economy to thrive by promoting closer partnerships between Higher Education Institutions active in Social Economy, Social Economy organisations and enterprises, as well as community stakeholders. The SE4CEs Wiki is an indispensable part of this effort since it hosts all the innovative materials produced throughout the project as well as other educational materials, curriculums, legislation and more about SE in the four countries of reference for the project, namely, Spain, Italy, Greece, and the UK. Finally, the SE4CEs Wiki aspires to become a solid educational platform that will be used in our forthcoming Joint International Masters on Social Economy that is planned to be launched after the end of the project, within 2024-2025.
